Evaluations & Testing
& Testing
What isNeuropsychological Evaluations/Testing?
Certain situations call for different types of psychological or cognitive assessments:
BRAIN INJURY:
Brain injuries occur frequently and can have life-time consequences. If you have had an auto accident, a sports injury involving your head, a stroke or other accident you may have a brain injury. And you may not even know it. As a brain injury specialist Dr. Foster can help assess your brain function and help you recover from your injury.
PSYCHOLOGICAL:
Dr. Foster offers objective, validated measures to assess for, and–if appropriate–diagnose psychological conditions. Individuals may want this kind of testing for both diagnosis and treatment recommendation purposes for themselves or family members.
LEGAL:
Workers Compensation case managers are often required to have a neuropsychological evaluation performed for their clients. Elder law attorneys may require psychological or cognitive testing for Conservatorship or Competency Evaluations.
EDUCATIONAL:
Psychoeducational batteries are often required when someone with a learning disability needs special assistance in an educational or work environment. Dr. Foster can provide psychoeducational diagnostic testing for IEP or 504 Programs.
MEDICAL:
Some physicians require psychological assessments before prescribing medications, or performing certain procedures, such as bariatric surgeries. As a licensed psychologist, Dr. Foster tests for and diagnoses mental, emotional, and psychological conditions.
